“WHY CAN’T I LOSE WEIGHT?  – THE HIDDEN FACTOR”

Many women and men who have literally tried every new diet or diet scheme only to feel defeated in their sincere efforts to lose weight and have said to me many times” Why can’t I lose weight?”.  If this has been your experience, I would recommend a simple test, called the “Candida Symptoms Screening Test”.  It will take you only 20 minutes to answer all the questions.  If you do not have Candida symptoms, this test will take you only 5 minutes because the questions will mean nothing to you.  However, if you have Candida symptoms, this test will open your eyes and you will relate too many of the questions.  What are some of the questions?

  1. Have you taken antibiotics?
  2. Have you taken cortisone-type medications?
  3. Have you take birth control pills?
  4. Have you been pregnant for 2 or more times?
  5. Do you suffer from allergies?
  6. Do you feel drained or fatigued often?
  7. Do you suffer from constipation or diarrhea or both?
  8. Do you often feel bloated or suffer with intestinal gas?
  9. Do you suffer from heartburn?
  10. Do you suffer with PMS or moodiness?
  11.  Do you have difficulty concentrating or have memory loss?
  12. Do you suffer with headaches?
  13. Do you suffer with nasal congestion or sore throats often?
  14. Do you have muscle pain?
  15. Have you lost your sexual drive?
  16. Do you desire coffee, tea or sodas?
  17. Do you desire breads, chips, crackers, pasta?
  18. Do you desire sugary foods such as cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream, candy?
  19. Are you sensitive to perfumes or tobacco smoke?
  20. Do you have a hard time getting a good night sleep?
  21. Do you suffer from skin rashes, skin irritations or acne?
  22. Is it difficult to lose weight and keep it off?

This is a partial list of the questions on the formal Candida Screening test; however, if you have answered even a few of these questions, I would strongly encourage you to complete a full screening.  What does this have to do with “why you cannot lose weight?” 

If you have symptoms of Candida, it is very difficult to lose weight and many will actually gain weight on diets.  Why is this?  Candida takes hold and gets out of control when our immune system becomes compromised.  What compromises our immune system?  So many things!  Antibiotics (even a single dose), birth control pills, cortisone and prednisone types of medications and a stressful lifestyle. 

This is compounded if you often consume foods such as sugar, sodas, coffee, teas, processed foods, white flours, chips, foods with high yeast or mold content such as breads and beer. 

A diet that is deficient in essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and amino acids can also lead to Candida overgrowth.  When our immune system is compromised and Candida sets in, Candida produces a hormone like substance that interferes with normal hormone production.  Once our hormones are out of balance, many times weight gain occurs. 

When our body is out of balance, it is very difficult to lose weight.  What can you do?  First of all, you must get at the source of the problem.  Strengthen your immune system by learning how to eat whole, unprocessed foods.  Learn how to manage the stress in your life.  It’s not stress that hurts us; it’s how we handle our stress that has an impact on our life.
