Trust Your Vibes!
By Tim Courtney

“Tim, don't you think we all have some sort of psychic abilities?"

I say, we certainly do!  We have all had a gut feeling, a raised-eye brow or hesitation, in which we were certain of or questioned the validity of a statement, action or situation.  Our inner voice or gut feeling is attempting to communicate with us.  I call this “my spirit speaking to me.”

Try to recall a conversation with a friend or relative where they told you, “Life is going great, I am so happy.” But you didn’t “buy it,” you picked-up a different “vibe.” This is your intuition working for you.

Not long ago, I was having a long, late-night conversation with a friend who had just returned home to Palm Springs after being away for a few months.  Around midnight we hit upon the subject of dating, particularly the first time meeting someone; and the perplexed process we sometimes create for ourselves as well as the person we are meeting.

My friend was becoming more aware of his genuine interest in meeting someone special. For a couple of weeks they had engaged in friendly contact via the Internet and, then, had made an appointment to meet each other over a good cup of coffee or tea at our local Koffi.

“Tim, maybe you can help me with this: my integrity is important; I make an appointment to meet and I show up but, many times in these meetings my mind is wandering. I am thinking about the time or about things I could be doing and I am just not present with the person…this bothers me that I do this.  I feel like I need to really give ‘it’ a chance, stay in the conversation longer, and see them a second time.”

My response was simple, “Trust Your Vibes. It sounds to me that you were ‘in tune’ to your vibes; you just did not fully trust them. And, you were not sure how to thoughtfully and politely bring the ‘coffee-date’ to an end.”

What I heard my friend saying to his date was: I am not connecting with you. Our energies are not in alignment and, therefore, my preference is to move forward with my day. The moment we realize there’s “no connection here,” we stop caring. And, when we do not care, possibilities for positive, progressive energies cease to flow. We have simply disconnected due to our lack of caring. This is not necessarily a negative thing; it is fantastic to be in-tune with your vibes, just trust them and act accordingly.

This obstacle could actually become empowering, courteous, and even strengthen his integrity by allowing him to be pro-active and take the lead in this situation. A positive example might have been to begin gathering his coffee/tea items together and removing himself from his seat while saying, “I appreciate your coming out and meeting with me today, but it is time for me to get on with my day, or, back to work, etc.

Our spirit is the most natural and highest form of guidance and direction. Trusting our vibes can make our lives flow so much more smoothly, peacefully, joyously and increase our confidence within our very own spirit.

Today I will trust my vibes.  I am grateful for this gift.
