The Mind Whisperer
By Dan McBee

Happy New Year Everyone,

I was recently watching the show “The Dog Whisperer” which is the show that motivated me to call myself, “The Mind Whisperer”.  If you haven’t seen the show I highly recommend it. You can see it on the National Geographic Channel.

Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer was explaining that dogs only live in the moment, that’s why it’s so much easier and faster to train a dog than it is to train a human.

If you ask; “Who is man’s best friend, most people would reply, “Their dog.”
Ask them who their worst enemy is and they are likely to say that it’s their mind.

Yet most people spend more time training their dog than they do training their mind.

If training a dog is easier because they live in the moment, doesn’t it make sense that training your mind to live in the moment would be the most important job you have?

How often do you live in the moment?  The past is gone.  You can’t bring it back or change it.  The future isn’t here yet and it’s not guaranteed to anyone.

The moment or the “present” is a gift from God. When you’re living life in the present moment you experience life in a whole new way. You begin to experience life such as watching birds dance in mid air, children playing, babies laughing, your partner smiling, the beauty of a flower, even the incredible colors in the sunrise and sunset.

Life is so much more abundant when you live in the moment.  You become much more aware of all the amazing opportunities that life has in store for us.

Kevin Trudeau in his book “Natural Cures ‘They’ Don’t Want You To Know About”
States that in his belief there are four major causes of most illnesses:

  1. You have too many toxins in your body.
  2. You have nutritional deficiencies.
  3. You are exposed and negatively affected by electromagnetic chaos.
  4. You have trapped mental and emotional stress.

While I agree with Mr. Trudeau about the four reasons, I feel that the sequence is incorrect and of extreme importance.

Here’s my list by order of importance.

  1. You have trapped mental and emotional stress.
  2. You are exposed and negatively affected by electromagnetic chaos.
  3. You have too many toxins in your body.
  4. You have nutritional deficiencies.

To emphasize my point, the World Health Organization estimates that depression is the second biggest cause of disability in developed countries, a problem which costs the US economy about $53 billion annually. How many of you currently taking medications for depression or anxiety find it difficult to quit taking them?

While I would never advocate not taking medications if you’re severely depressed, I would suggest that since it’s your life and the fact that most drugs have as longer list of side effects than the symptom you’re trying to cure, perhaps being proactive in changing what causes depression and anxiety in the first place might be a direction for you to give attention to.

What we give our energy to expands.  Become more aware of what you’re thinking about and you’ll gain more awareness of when you’re not in the moment. While it may sound overly simple, you’ll be surprised when you begin paying more attention to the fact that most people give more energy to the things they don’t want rather than to the things they want.

Do you worry? This is another way of being aware that you’re not in the present moment, It is impossible to be worrying if you’re living in the moment. Worry comes from obsessing about something that happened in the past or something that hasn’t occurred yet.

You’ll be able to make much better decisions when you’re living in the present moment.

Until next time we wish you a life of abundance of love, health and wealth.
