Benefits Of Dry Skin Brushing
By Carolyn J. Dean

Dry skin brushing is such a simple technique for the body, and yet many have never heard of it.  We all have heard that the largest organ of the body is our skin.  Did you know that our skin is responsible for one-fourth of the body’s detoxification each day?  By stimulating our skin through dry skin brushing we can actually help our Lymphatic System to clean itself of toxins that collect in the Lymph Glands.  What are the benefits of dry skin brushing?

*Skin will be firmer
*Helps to remove Cellulite
*Circulation will be stimulated
*Cleans the Lymphatic System
*Improves digestion
*Removes dead skin layers, producing smoother skin

How do you perform dry skin brushing?

  1. Use a natural body brush designed for dry skin brushing.
  2. Begin brushing skin before a bath or shower.  Skin needs to be dry.
  3. Brush skin with small circular counter-clockwise strokes.  Do not

brush skin too hard.

  1. Start on one side of the body.  Begin brushing the bottom of the feet,

and then start brushing the front, back and sides of the leg working
up towards the hips.  Brush the buttocks, hips, stomach, up to the
rib cage area and breasts.  Do not brush the nipples of the breast.
Now start brushing back of the hand to the front and then move up
the arm back to front.  Brush under the armpit and then gently
brush towards the heart.  When finished brushing one side of the
body, begin this process on the other side.

  1. After you are finished brushing your body, take a warm shower or

bath.  At the end rinse with cool water to stimulate more blood circulation.

  1. Keep your body brush clean by washing with mild soap and rinsing

completely with water.  Let brush dry completely.  Brush should be washed at least every few weeks.

  1. Dry body brushing should be done at least once a day, but can be done twice a day.
