Nine Suggestions For Those With Irritable Bowel Syndrome
By Tammy Fish

The following suggestion are directed toward those who may be suffering with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

1.Liquids will interfere with the enzymes your body needs to break down the foods you eat. Always drink an hour before and an hour after all meals. If you need to drink during a meal, drink up to 4 ounces of water only.

2.Protein enzymes will interfere with the enzymes your body needs to break down starches, thus your food will enter your intestines undigested, which can lead to many intestinal illness.

3.Laxatives don’t heal, they actually hinder.  Your bodies system can begin to rely on these products thus shutting down all together. One truly needs to heal their body, not band-aid it with laxatives.

4.With digestive issues such as IBS, the gut cannot break down foods properly, let alone fats.  They can cause even more pressure in the gut and lead to bloating and cramping. So avoid fats until your gut has healed. I suggested fats that are pre-digested.

5.Become conscious of the foods you’re eating and which ones cause you constipation or diarrhea. For instance, dairy can cause both of these issues along with raw veggies for some.  If you don’t know your trigger foods, I can help you figure this out.

6.Exercise is great for IBS sufferers because it stimulates, stretches, & strengthens the bowels. Stretch the area of the stomach and intestinal area on a daily basis. Strengthen this area as best you can.

7.Water can help regulate the bowels by adding moisture and also carry any natural supplement regimen you may be on. Water also carries nutrients to depleted cells.

8.I know for me, when I had IBS, I would be going about my day and all of a sudden my stomach would begin bloating. I’d try to figure out what I had eaten and realized that it wasn’t the food on that particular day, but I was right in the middle of a stressful situation. We all carry stress around in different areas of our bodies.  Some people carry it in their shoulders for instance, while others carry it in their stomachs. Pay attention to your daily situations & see what you discover.

9.Reconsider the supplements that you are taking. They may be adding to your gut issues.  What you are taking may be synthetic thereby too hard on your gut.  The goal is to consume only natural supplements & or foods so that your body can do what it does best, which is heal itself.

IBS is an uncomfortable and frustrating issue.  We can really begin to heal ourselves when we pay attention to what goes in our mouths. We just need to get back to the basics; by taking out the unnatural “wanna be” foods in our diet.
