The Mind Whisperer
By Dan Mcbee

Happy Holidays! Another year has come to a close. How much better has this year been than last year?

How long did last years resolutions last? What resolutions have you made for the upcoming year? What are you doing to insure their success?

I'm Dan McBee, the Mind Whisperer, in this column we'll be discussing the reasons why creating the kind of life we’d like can be difficult, and how to make it easier.

"You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it."
 - Albert Einstein

So how do you change the mind?  By changing your paradigm to include more information.  In this case I’d suggest that we begin operating not only out of our mind, but also from our soul.

For some it's called soul, others call it the “higher mind”. Regardless of what you call it, there is a higher self that understands that all it wants is love. All the other stuff is just that, stuff.

It's the lower self or little mind that keeps us wrapped up in drama and trauma.
Many people are focusing on becoming more spiritual. This is like trying
to get a horse to be more horse. You can't make a horse be more horse and you can't be more spirit than what you are now. You are spirit, what you really need to recognize is how to operate from your spirit instead of from your mind.

In order to develop the kind of life you want, you must quiet the mind. It's the fastest, easiest way. Quieting the mind brings you into the present moment. In the present moment everything is in perfect order. It’s when you’re regretting the past or fearing the future that you create resistance to the natural flow of life.

The first step in quieting your mind is to become more aware of what you think.
I know it may seem difficult at first but you'll be amazed at how quickly you'll notice incredible differences in your life once you start practicing the technique I'm about to show you.

Have you ever heard someone say that every winter they get a cold? Or how about this one, "I never win anything or "I always pick the wrong person to have a relationship with".

What we state, we create. If you say you catch a cold every winter, guess what? Next winter you'll get a cold. After all, you commanded your mind to do so!
What are you commanding your mind to do?

The next step is to use the three most important words you can use. These three most important words you can add to your vocabulary are "Up Until Now".  I know this may seem rather simple and unimportant to you now, however in a very short period of time you will find them to be extremely important and life changing.

The reason this is so powerful is that it puts closure on the statements you make. It anchors positive affirmations. The reason most affirmations don't work is because they are incongruent. For instance, should you say "I am rich " but you have no money, it  doesn't resonate as truth (because it isn't) .  However when you say "Up until now I haven't been as rich as I choose to be", you are stating truth and commanding the mind to perform the kind of change you are after.

Let's try another one. "I find it easy to lose weight". If losing weight has been difficult for you, you can say it's easy all day long and it won't make a bit of difference because you can't trick the mind into doing what you want. You have to reason with it. Saying, "Up until now, losing weight has been difficult but now it is easy", again states truth and allows change.
