Lose Weight and Feel Great with Hypnosis
By Shannon Feather

Approaching 75% of our nations men, women and children are considered overweight.  This is in a nation where every form of diet imaginable is available. Almost every town has some sort of fitness center, and we even have television and cable channels devoted solely to health and fitness.

With the dieting industry still growing, Americans consuming and buying over $30 billion dollars worth of dieting products, videos, books and even having surgery, it is now time to take a second look and open yourself up to the possibility that using the power of your mind may be the healthiest, safest method for achieving any goal you desire, including weight loss.

Hypnosis is easy, safe and very effective. Most of all it’s fun!  More and more informative news shows such as Dateline and publications like Newsweek have stated that hypnosis is one of the leading ways to lose unhealthy pounds and keep them off permanently.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis feels different for everyone.  Typically during a hypnosis session you will feel very relaxed and peaceful, sometimes experiencing a heightened state of awareness.  Some people may experience euphoria, may drift off into a daydream or dreamlike state, or even feel as though they were asleep during a session.  There are times when clients describe a sense of timelessness.  The level of hypnosis varies from individual to individual.

After just one session many people experience a feeling of increased willpower in relation to food and their eating habits, and an immediate decrease in cravings for unhealthy foods and sweets.  They also experience a great sense of relief knowing they are not on a diet, but automatically and naturally eating sensibly and taking better care of their health.

How fast will I lose my weight?

When people use hypnosis for weight loss, they usually lose 1– 2 pounds per week.  Remember this is a healthy rate of weight loss and once you have met your goal, there are no unhealthy patterns to return to that cause you to gain the weight back.  Your new eating behaviors are permanent.

How does hypnosis for weight loss work?

Hypnosis for weight loss works in many different ways.  One of the most important ways in assisting the client to reprogram their mind and reinforce their normal feedback mechanisms that tell them when they need food and when their appetite is satisfied. When a person eats to the point they experience a full feeling, they have already grossly overeaten.

Another way hypnosis aids in weight loss is by helping the client realize and reprogram any negative or self-limiting attachments or emotions they may have in connection to food and their eating habits.  Many overweight men, women and children eat for emotional reasons. Hypnosis can also help you eliminate unhealthy cravings, increase your willpower and make you more aware of your unhealthy eating habits.

How many hypnosis sessions will it take?

The number of sessions and the frequency varies from person to person. Typically a client will be seen twice in the first month and once a month there after until they have reached their desired goal.  Individual sessions are very important in the beginning weeks to help release any attachments or issues related to eating and food.

After that, a client may attend group weight loss sessions.  These work wonderfully for ongoing maintenance and support.  This also makes hypnosis very cost effective for the client and increases their willingness to succeed in achieving their goal weight.

Why should I choose hypnosis over other forms of dieting?

Hypnosis is a very positive, healthy, and natural approach for obtaining the healthy body you desire, and reestablishing your normal feedback mechanisms. These mechanisms are the checks and balance systems the body uses to inform us of when we need to eat and when we are satisfied and should stop.

The words diet and dieting are very negative words to the subconscious mind and in fact threaten starvation and discomfort. This automatically brings forward the mind’s very strong mechanism for self-preservation.  This is the cause of most diets failing.

Even when weight is lost with dieting, it is only temporary and as soon as an the diet is ceased and a persons regular eating habits resume, the weight is quickly regained and often times more than was lost in the first place.  This is a very self-defeating cycle.

With hypnosis there are no pills, no nasty tasting shakes or foods, nor are there any strict regimens to follow or calories to count. With hypnosis you simply use the power of your mind and basic common sense in regard to healthy and unhealthy foods to achieve your goal and lose the unnecessary weight with ease.
