I.R.S. Offers To PAY YOU To Improve Your Life!

Tax laws passed in 2005 reward a tax credit not a tax deduction, a tax credit! - that reimburses 100% of monies paid for smoking cessation and weight loss programs.  [Even if you don’t need to stop smoking or lose weight, keep reading for important information for other personal and/or professional goals.  Skip the next paragraph if you like.]

What a tax credit means is the amount of the credit is deducted from the taxes you owe.  You will need to complete and attach Form 8885, Health Coverage Tax Credit, to your Form 1040 or Form 1040NR.  You cannot claim the credit on Form 1040A or Form1040EZ.  You must also attach proof of payment and these payments must be specifically for smoking cessation and weight loss; they cannot be included in what you paid for medical and dental expenses on Schedule A (Form 1040) or for Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction or for Archer Medical Savings Account (MSA) distributions.  Smokers cannot include amounts paid for drugs that do not require a prescription; such a nicotine gum or patches that are designed to help stop smoking.  Weight loss programs cannot include membership dues in a gym, health club or spa, but can include separate fees charged there for specific weight loss activities.  To qualify for the weight loss credit you must be diagnosed with a specific weight condition, such as obesity, hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease.

Hypnotherapy programs, not hypnosis programs, qualify for the tax credit.  That amazes us. We had no idea the government is more cognizant than the general public about the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy.  So much more they are willing to put their money behind hypnotherapy.  The difference?

Hypnosis works.  We know.  We are a non-profit healing, teaching, and research foundation.  We have studied, investigated, taught and used hypnosis in clinical practice for over five decades.  Hypnosis allows for a controlled use of altered states to more powerfully imprint positive suggestions, guided imagery, and visualization; alleviate or reduce pain or nausea; and to reach inner levels of consciousness for interpreting dreams and connecting to spiritual guidance.  Hypnosis is also used for regressions – to find what happened in the past.  How far in the past can be shocking at first; however, after regressing hundreds of thousands of clients, students and research subjects, we are no longer shocked.

Hypnosis does not work or will eventually lose its effectiveness in the face of conscious or subconscious emotional resistance or mental blocks to a goal.  You may think you want to stop smoking, lose weight, get healthier, heal the past, improve relationships, enjoy pleasure, advance professionally, end self-sabotage or emotional, mental, physical or spiritual pain, but if your subconscious does not believe it, you will not achieve it.  Unless you have very strong will power and use it effectively, in which case your subconscious still wins because it will punish you for your success.

Therapy is for overcoming emotional resistance and mental blocks, which are beliefs that get in your way.  Often these are beliefs you can’t believe you still have.  The subconscious does not automatically change its mind just because you do.  It is your subconscious, but it has its own rules and one of those rules is it will hold onto a belief until it is convinced on its own terms the belief is no longer true.  Its terms are strict.  You must find and address the reason for the belief in the first place and then prove to your subconscious why it is no longer true.

Hypnosis can be used to find emotional resistance and mental blocks.
Hypnotherapy must be used to address and overcome them.

If hypnosis has not worked for you in the past, seek out professional hypnotherapy.  If hypnotherapy has not worked for you, it is probable you did not address all you needed to address.  Everyone wants therapy to be done with quickly, especially hypnotherapy practitioners; after all, hypnotherapy is touted as a particularly fast therapeutic modality.  Therapy is not done, however, until the subconscious has changed its mind and sometimes there is more than one issue, even in relation to one particular goal, that keeps it from changing its mind.

Permanent positive change requires patience and commitment.  If you cannot afford daily hypnotherapy – which will get you there faster – your hypnotherapist will give you homework to do between sessions.  If you do the homework, that will get you there faster too.

Pay in advance for a hypnosis program of at least two to three sessions.  It will help you stick with the program and most practitioners will give you a discount when you pay in advance.  If you have not reached your goal at the end of the program, pay in advance for hypnotherapy sessions.  If you have not reached your goal at the end of those sessions but have noticed positive changes are occurring, pay in advance for more sessions.  Repeat until you complete your goal.
