Flu Shots – Should You or Shouldn’t You?

Our government is considering making the swine flu vaccine mandatory. We may not be allowed to exercise the rights our forefathers fought for and upon which this great country was founded.  If you lived in Massachusetts, your right to decline this experimental vaccine would already be gone!  And even worse, if you refused to comply, the government would have the right to literally quarantine you indefinitely and label you a “felon” under the Emergency Medical Powers Act. 
Thank God, we still have “vaccine freedom” in California, but nothing guarantees that this right will be preserved, if President Obama or Congress mandates otherwise.  Our state, as well as every individual within this country could suddenly find themselves under the control of the military, forced to line up and roll up our sleeves.
Because vaccines can send your immune system into overdrive and trigger a major inflammatory response, it’s important to support your body’s immune system. Before you get any vaccines, be sure to load up on natural anti-inflammatories such as Vitamin C and all the flavonoids.  These are naturally abundant in rose hips, green tea, turmeric, quercetin, curcumin, ferulic acid and ellagic acid.
If you’re not already taking a high quality, mercury-free fish oil, you need to consider it immediately. Taking high doses of Ester C plus bioflavinoids, fish oil and bromelaine or Wobenzymes on an empty stomach may cause irritation, but with some fruit one hour before your injection you can protect your brain from sudden inflammation. Vitamins E, and D are also powerful anti-inflammatories. 
Immediately after any “shot” apply an icepack directly over the area to block a local immune reaction. Just carry a small ice pack with you to the doctor’s office along with a bottle of bromelaine or Wobenzyme and take a double or triple dose on your way out of the office, unless you have a bleeding disorder! 
If your doctor or nurse forgets to warn you about that the single greatest risk posed by a flu shot, ASK, because it’s potentially FATAL!
Gillian Barre Syndrome is not uncommon following any vaccination.  GBS begins by attacking the lining of the nerves, progressing to sudden partial paralysis that can result in an inability to breathe if not treated immediately.  
If your doctor or nurse forgets to tell you what’s actually in the vaccine, ASK, because it’s full of neurotoxins and carcinogens and you need to prepare yourself. What follows is only a partial list:

  • Viruses: both living and dead.
  • Aluminum:  A heavy metal that is both toxic and cancerous and considered a cause of Alzheimer’s and memory loss.
  • Formaldehyde: Is not only a neurotoxin but also a carcinogen (known to cause cancer).  Formaldehyde is used to embalm corpses and there are NO safe levels. It can cause hyperactivity, headaches, asthma, coughing, nosebleeds, and skin problems.  
  • Thimerosal: An extremely dangerous preservative, containing mercury.  Thimerosal is made from a Ethylene Glycol (antifreeze) and ethanol, thiosalicylic acid, sodium hydroxide and ethyl mercuric chloride. All neurotoxins (poisonous to the nervous system), are dangerous and capable of causing brain and liver damage, but more importantly, each ingredient is potentially fatal.

Saving the best for last:
While I personally am a huge advocate of Vitamin D3 for protection against many disorders, including cancer, it has stepped up to the forefront as the single most significant thing you can do to protect yourself from any flu virus. There is overwhelming evidence demonstrating that deficient vitamin D levels play a significant role in your susceptibility to the flu.
Vitamin D has been under the microscope the past few years and has been demonstrated to have a remarkable impact on nearly every single disease studied.

  • A 2007 study showed higher vitamin D enhanced immunity to microbial infections.
  • A 2009 study showed that vitamin D deficiency in newborns and their mothers, resulted in increased acute respiratory infections.
  • A 2009 survey demonstrated an association between vitamin D levels and recent upper respiratory tract infection in nearly 19,000 subjects over the age of 12.
  • The positive correlation between lower vitamin D levels and increased risk of URTI was even stronger in individuals with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
  • Another 2009 report in the journal Pediatric Research stated that infants and children appear more susceptible to viral rather than bacterial infections when deficient in vitamin D.

While none of these studies focused on the Swine flu; it stands to reason that these same symptoms would be helped in the case of any flu!  
One of the world’s leading vitamin D experts, Dr. Cannell, recommends taking as much as 50,000 IU’s a day for three days at the onset of any acute infection, and other experts have recommended the same amount of Vitamin A at the same dose, for three days.  Some researchers, including Dr. Cannell, believe the dose could even be as high as 1,000 units per pound of body weight for three days. 
(Please note, this is far higher than most doctors recommen, and should be considered only as a temporary dose for disease prevention.)
So, to answer the question, “Should you, or shouldn’t you get the flu vaccine?”  I cannot give you your answer because as long as it’s not federally mandated, it remains a very personal decision that only you can make for yourself and your children.  What I can tell you is that I have never had a flu shot, and my own four children were not vaccinated or given flu shots.  My three grandchildren also have not been vaccinated and there have never been any problems resulting from this decision, including getting them into school. 
However, we also eat organic and wholesome meals and take vitamins and minerals daily, and none of us has a compromised immune system.  I, as a mother and a grandmother, honor my children’s decisions today to raise their children as they choose, without judgment and without forcing my opinions.  This is now their decision to make and I respect their intelligence to independently investigate for themselves.  As I am telling you now and have always told my clients and my family, health is a choice and if you choose health, you must become well informed and be willing to take a stand, because it is not the norm. Your doctors, nurses and teachers will probably not agree with all your decisions.
