How Can I Get Rid of Cellulite?

By Carolyn J. Dean

This is a question that many women ask.  Often women will try any cream, treatment, massage or wrap that claims improvement for cellulite. Many younger women are now complaining that they have cellulite and wonder how did they get it.  As a personal trainer, I have worked with many slender women who have cellulite on their legs so bad that they will not wear a swimsuit. They ask how can I get rid of my cellulite.  Since I sincerely wanted to help my training clients to get the results from their training sessions, I felt a need to research and find a source of information that would truly help these women to get rid of cellulite.

Many claim that cellulite is just plain fat.  However, since I became a certified Wellness Consultant, I have found it is much more than just fat tissue.  According to a study done by Drs. Sherwitz and Braun-Falco in the late 1970’s, a cause of the rippling effect of cellulite is fluid retention in adipose (fatty) tissues.  The researchers observed clear signs of fluid invasion in the connective fibers of the upper layers of the skin.

According to research the appearance of cellulite is due to the accumulation of toxins and fluid retention in the connective tissues.  Research has also shown that the retained fluids that contain toxins actually break down the all-important collagen and elastin fibers that keep the skin firm and smooth.  According to cellulite experts, cellulite chooses areas with poor circulation, which in turn slows circulation even more.  Loss of blood flow to an area, whether from the lack of exercise, excessive sitting, clogged arteries, or nutrient deficiency, can have a disastrous impact on cellulite formation.  The amount of damage that inhibited blood flow can do in fragile connective tissues cannot be calculated, but every system of the body is adversely affected when circulation is reduced or blocked.

So can you get rid of cellulite? The most important job in eliminating cellulite is to restore normal, healthy, vigorous circulation to cellulite-prone areas.  Aerobic exercise, jogging, dancing, jumping rope, etc….can help, but because cellulite tissues are so densely packed and circulation has become poor, exercise is rarely enough to restore healthy circulation.  It has been found that special prepared herbal creams that penetrate the cellulite tissues literally drain out cellulite water and wastes.  When used with an external wrap, which increases heat in the tissues, immediate results are seen.

Also, it was found that certain cleansing herbs remove waste accumulations in the connective tissues.  Therefore, based on the studies above, a complete program to increase circulation and cleansing of internal toxins has been found to be effective.  We have been very pleased to be able to help women with cellulite through the M’Lis Anti-Cellulite Program, which addresses the elimination of internal toxins through detoxifying and herbal wraps that create circulation.  Selected aerobic exercises will be also outlined as part of the complete program.
